Research activities

I am a scientist and my main field of interest is neutrino physics, in particular neutrino astronomy. I am a member of the ANTARES, KM3NeT and TANAMI collaborations. In ANTARES, I am a member of the experiment's steering committee. My task is to coordinate the development and maintenance of data analysis tools such as e.g. algorithms for event reconstruction or software packages for calibration, visualization, simulation and data productions. In addition, I coordinate the working group that searches for diffuse neutrino fluxes. In KM3NeT I serve as a member of the conference and outreach committee and take an active role in the work on the feasibility study ORCA (Oscillation Research with Cosmics in the Abyss), which investigates if the KM3NeT technology can be used to build a megaton water Cherenkov detector to determine the ordering of neutrino mass eigenstates.

Previously, I worked in heavy ion and hadron physics as a member of the HADES collaboration at TUM and GSI/FAIR, Darmstadt and in computational astrophysics at MPA, Garching.
